LOCAL 369 PRESIDENT CRAIG A. PINKHAM ELECTED NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF UTILITY WORKERS UNION OF AMERICA
BOSTON, MA – Craig A. Pinkham has been elected National Vice President of the 50,000-member Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA), the union’s regional affiliate, Local 369, announced today. Pinkham will formally assume the position on March 1, 2022.
In his new role, Pinkham will be assisting utility workers across the United States under the direction of the union’s National President James Slevin.
Pinkham currently serves as President of Utility Workers Union of America, Local 369. The youngest elected officer to serve Local 369, Pinkham has earned a reputation as a skilled negotiator, serving more than 3,000-area members in 22 collective bargaining units at 13 public and private sector employers, including Eversource, Exelon, and National Grid.
Under his leadership, Local 369’s members have won raises, benefits, job security, post-employment benefits, and key safety provisions while keeping the power and gas safely flowing to families, municipalities, and businesses across the Bay State.
Pinkham credits his leadership success to the training and mentorship he received from colleagues, members, and earlier generations of Local 369 members, including his mother and father. He’s looking forward to bringing his youth and negotiating expertise to more locals across the country.
“I’m honored to serve UWUA President Slevin and our union’s 50,000 highly skilled, highly trained, hardworking members,” said Pinkham. “I’m looking forward to building on our success in Massachusetts to assist utility workers across the United States.”
Local 369 also announced today that Secretary-Treasurer Dan Leary will serve as acting President of the Braintree-based local effective March 1, 2022. Leary has been a careful steward of the union’s finances and has worked closely with President Pinkham to meet the needs of the union’s hardworking members.
Pinkham was first elected President of Local 369 in 2015, after serving four years as Secretary-Treasurer. Prior to being elected as a full-time officer, Pinkham has worked at Eversource Energy for 22 years in represented positions such as Power System Operator in the Control Center, Overhead line worker, Underground line worker, Customer Service Association, and Customer Service Representative.
Pinkham also serves on the National Utility Workers Union of America Executive Board, is a Vice President on the Executive Council of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, a member of Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Labor Advisory Committee, and is the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Members Plus Credit Union. In May 2013, he was inducted into the Suffolk University Hall of Fame alongside his 2000 Baseball team.
Pinkham graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He’s also a graduate of the Harvard Trade Union Program and Cornell University’s National Labor Leadership Initiative.
