NATIONAL GRID CALL CENTER CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS

|

Your Bargaining Committee met Thursday, March 27, 2008, until very late into night. Many issues were discussed including work schedules, seniority, job specs, sick time, disability, right to assign and vacation to name a few.

Although some progress was made the Local and the Company are still far apart on several issues, the biggest of which involves new hires. The Company is proposing to have a two tier wage and benefit system which would not include a pension.

We cannot accept this all out assault on our workforce or future workforce because it will no doubt start us on a path of no return filled with concessions and give backs.
