Utility Workers Union of America Local 369 has been named to the Boston Business Journal's Book of Lists as one of the region's largest unions.

The list was recently published in the Boston Business Journal newspaper.

Local 369 has 5,000 members and is headquartered on Bay State Drive in Braintree. It is listed as the 21st-largest union in the area.

The local is an affiliate of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and is allied with the Massachusetts Utility Workers Council.

"We're pleased to be named as one of the largest unions in the Boston area and look forward to future placement on this prestigious Boston Business Journal list as our membership continues to grow," Local 369 President Gary Sullivan said.

The local recently organized workers at the SEMASS facility in Rochester. It also negotiated contracts for its members at the Entergy-operated Pilgrim nuclear power plant in Plymouth and for professionals at National Grid.

About 3,000 of the union's members work at natural gas, electric and nuclear energy facilities in eastern Massachusetts.

The local, which represents employees of NStar, National Grid, Entergy, Exelon, Maverick Construction, Distrigas and Mirant, also has an office in Fairhaven.
